The new Dare County NCWorks Access Point recently opened in Room 142 of the Dare County Administration Building, located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo, NC.
Space is limited, so in order to receive services in the office, customers must schedule an appointment in advance by calling 252-621-6356 or by sending an email to ncworks.6700@nccommerce.com. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Many NCWorks services, which connect job-seekers with employers who are hiring, do not require an in-person visit but are instead available over the phone, and virtually through www.ncworks.gov.
This office takes the place of the former NCWorks Career Center that previously operated in Nags Head.
“We are pleased to be able to resume in-person workforce services in the county, and we extend our appreciation to Dare County for partnering with us to make this space available,” said Larry Donley, NCWorks Regional Operations Director for the Northeast Prosperity Zone with the N.C. Department of Commerce.
NCWorks services help North Carolinians find work, improve their skills and connect to other resources to help them prepare for job interviews and make a good impression on employers. The following services are offered to job-seekers, at no charge:
- Career assessment and guidance
- Access to training and education programs
- Information about job fairs and workshops
- Information on the job market
- Assistance with searching for jobs
- Résumé and cover letter preparation
- Practice interviewing for jobs
- Free computer and Internet access
- Help registering with and using NCWorks Online.
In addition, NCWorks provides local employers with help recruiting and screening job applicants, labor market information and access to training resources, among other services, which are also free of charge.
