On October 28, 2022, at approximately 5:00 pm, the Dare County Narcotics Task Force were working an investigation involving a person believed to be coming in from Virginia selling illegal narcotics in and around the Shell Road area of Salvo, NC.
During the investigation a search was obtained for a residence in the 27000 block of Shell Rd, Salvo, NC. Upon the execution of the search warrant an amount of Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, Buprenorphine Sublingual and US Currency were located and seized.
Kenneth McCray Gatling, 42, of Portsmouth, VA, was arrested and charged with (F) PWISMD Cocaine, (F) PWISMD Schedule III Drug and (F) Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle/Place for a Controlled Substance.
Gatling was released on a $25,000 secured bond.
